Rep. LoBiondo Views New Egg Harbor City Parking Lot, Infrastructure Improvements to Expand Local Business & Create Jobs.

Egg Harbor City, N.J. - Rep. Frank A. LoBiondo (NJ-2) joined local, county & state officials today at the dedication of a new parking lot and improved infrastructure that will allow a local flower business to expand and create new jobs. The efforts were funded with federal and state grants showing the positive effects of government partnerships and public-private cooperation.

"This project will improve the infrastructure of Egg Harbor City as it aids the City's largest employer to grow and create jobs in the Atlantic County area," said Rep. LoBiondo at the press conference held at World Class Flowers on Duerer Street. "It is a perfect combination of public money helping the private sector grow the local economy and create new employment opportunities and demonstrates the kind partnerships I am working in Washington to promote."

World Class Flowers has received a $70,000 Rural Business enterprise grant from U. S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Rural Development Office as well as a $640,000 grant from the New Jersey State Department of Community Affairs to build a new parking lot and improve drainage on adjoining property they are leasing from the City in order to start construction to increase the size of their operation and handle the creation of additional jobs.

"We have created an unique partnership between government at every level and the private sector to create new jobs in the City and for the region at large," said Gordon Dahl, Executive Director of the South Jersey Economic Development District (SJEDD).

The Congressman thanked Andrew Law of USDA Rural Development, Assm. Kirk Conover, Chairman of the South Jersey Economic Development District Board of Directors and Executive Director Dahl, and the State Department of Community Affairs for the cooperation and commitment to helping local communities improve job prospects and aiding local businesses to grow the South Jersey economy. He also praised Rob Gravitz, owner of World Class Flowers, for his commitment to the community and his efforts to build his business and create new jobs.

The improvements made at World Class Flowers will also benefit tenants located at the nearby industrial park by allowing them to increase the size of the buildings due to elimination of on-site drainage facilities.
